Tag and Category icons on the way

Hey all!

In the background over the last few days, I’ve been working on getting icons linked up with tags.

If you’d like an early preview of this, you can check it out here: https://amcforum.wiki/tags?preview_theme_id=56 (Link will now still work, but does not have any theme components applied (intentional), so it might look a bit weird)

(Staff should view the one here instead, as that will match their theme better: https://amcforum.wiki/tags?preview_theme_id=52)

Both tag and category icons are now in production, feel free to leave feedback on this topic!

In addition, I decided adding category icons would look nice as well, so those are in the works as well.

For the general public, use the same preview link above, it includes both of them! (See note on link)

Hey everyone!

I just finished assigning all our tags icons!
I’ll be pushing it to all themes shortly, please provide feedback on them here!

(Category icons are still coming, I just need more time on those)

That I’m not sure. These two, albeit while taking a while to configure, were already made on Discourse Meta. Plus, group icons would feel redundant (flairs), so I’m not sure there.

I’m thinking they could look like user statuses on mentions or something

Here’s that avalible icon lists if you have a suggestion:

  1. Most icons - Regular + Solid styles in Version 5 | Font Awesome
  2. Brand icons - Find the Perfect Icon for Your Project in Font Awesome 5 | Font Awesome

Added icons to s, group-request, memes, and screenshot today!

Bumping this because I made another tweak:

Now the little colored boxes next to the category name will no longer be shown and it’s just the icons! Please let me know y’all’s feedback on this switch!

Additionally, bug, duolingo-alternative, flair, giveaway, languages, linux, and news now have icons!

hmm, pretty weird but it’s good :slight_smile:
and I still don’t know why I’m using light mode but yeah some icons look weird with that. I’m too lazy to change to dark mode, someone hack me and do it

Added an icon to nintendo. Unfortunately, it cannot be the Nintendo logo, as FA was legally forced to remove it.
