“Something went wrong and your PIN isn’t available (code: 0x8028008b). Click to set up your PIN again.”
This happens if I wake my computer up from sleep. After I restart the computer its fine but it happens every single time and it is annoying.
I went to How do I fix 0x8028008b errors when waking CPU from sleep? - Microsoft Community
However I am not sure if it worked or not. I just wanted to see if anyone else has a solution.
I have at least three solutions:
- Boot from your Linux USB and use
chntpw
to reset the Windows password. That will let you in and possibly fix the problem.
- Run some troubleshooters built-in to Windows, including the virus check.
- Play around in Settings and Control Panel to see what is to be seen. Perhaps there is something useful there.
- Reinstall Windows.
- Install an alternative OS (I recommend Linux, but you could install ChromeOS Flex or a few others as well).

@JayAySeaOhBee14 which one solved your problem? The sledgehammer I hope.
